Ontario Pioneer Camp {OPC} has been a part of my family for a few years now, it is the highlight of the summer for all four of my children.

When they first started going, I was most worried about my youngest, who was six at the time. When I told him he was going away for a week, he was mad and yelled at me, “NO, I’m not going, you just want alone time {with Daddy}.” By the time I picked him up on the following Saturday, he didn’t want to leave.

This past summer sealed the deal as to why I love this camp so much and will move mountains to make sure they keep going each year. My 3rd child suffers from severe anxiety which I believe has been enhanced by his experience with the public school system over the last 6 or so years. OPC made him feel like a million bucks this summer, read more about it on my blog, “When a Boy is Seen for his Awesomeness

Yes, it’s true they return home after learning how to swim, sail, canoe, archery, sing new camp songs, meet new friends, etc but they learn far more than that. They learn they can do whatever they set their minds out to do. They learn who they are. They grow in all areas of their lives. It is my family’s heart camp and I can’t wait for you and your kids to meet them at BlissDom Canada. (Register your kids for #CampBliss at the bottom of this post.)

Last year they made Babble’s Top 30 Family Camps in North America List.

** A recent study done by the University of Waterloo showed children who attended summer camp, had an increase in Social Connections & Integration, Environmental Awareness, Attitudes towards Physical Activity, Emotional Intelligence, and Personal Development & Self-Confidence.
